Welcome to the Shepherd School alumni web page. We have created this site to help celebrate our school’s 30 years of training professional musicians, and to encourage our alumni to actively participate in the current life of the Shepherd School. In our short history, The Shepherd School has produced outstanding graduates who have attained great successes in the music world and beyond.

Joining our mailing list is your opportunity to share with your peers your latest news--through photos, information about upcoming concerts or newly released recordings, recently won positions, or just stories about your life after the Shepherd School.

Trio Destino: Silver Medalists in the Senior Wind Division at the 2008 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. Members include Hilary Abinana (flute), Amy Chung (clarinet), and Rachael Young (bassoon).

The Shepherd School will use the Alumni Profile information to help you to connect with long-lost stand partners, attend regional alumni events, network with alumni in your area, and read about concert and recent news events at the Shepherd School through quarterly Shepherd School e-newsletters. Even if you have moved into another profession, we welcome your news and hope you will be in touch.

You can also be critical in helping to bring the next generation of exceptional musicians to the Shepherd School by volunteering to assist with new student recruitment. Our admission staff travels throughout the country for performing arts recruiting fairs, and your willingness to share your experiences at Rice with prospective students can be invaluable. Please contact the Director of Music Admissions, if you would like to help out.

The accomplishments of Shepherd School graduates continually renew the value of musical study at Rice University. Our graduates are represented across the world as premier musicians, successful entrepreneurs, and industry leaders in fields outside of music.
